Tour de France: Day 9
Vitre to La Fleche
Well as suggested in my last post the day was both hot in temperature and in pace. The boys are having a meeting to sort the pace out as some are dropping back to the B group which might not be helping those already in this group. The ride was beautiful through more quiet rolling farmland. The roads were a little rough in places but compared to what we are used to – a dream.
About half way through our morning ride we stopped for a coffee at a small cafe and happened on a barista who had ridden the TDF. I know, what are the chances? but his name is Franck Renier and he rode it 4 times from 2000 to 2004. A very nice guy who let us take photos and gave us a bio on his career. Have a look at Wikipedia.
Tomorrow looks like it will be hot again BUT we have rain in the forecast for later in the week.
