Montmorillon

We made it almost back to square 1 today! After 10 days of riding, we passed very close to our starting destination, Poitiers. As we continued on, we left the Loire Valley behind. The population became sparser, and the villages further apart, which made for some quiet rural riding. To keep the distance at 120 km, we bypass the Brenne Regional Park (crossed by the 2000 TDF) and plan for an earlier arrival into Montmorillon.

Today’s riding was great! The pace consistent with big groups enjoying themselves. We biked to lunch at 80 km through wheat and fields of sun flowers. After lunch Blair, Chris, Robin and I went through the National Park. It’s not what we would call fantastic but the roads, trees and Chateau’s we saw were great. Looking forward to tomorrow with a ride of 80 km to Limoges. People are definitely riding themselves into fitness and we are turning quite copper in this summer weather.
