The Marlborough region is a popular destination for adventure travellers and wine connoisseurs alike. It is a great place to explore, indulge and relax – whether you’re looking for a relaxing weekend away from the city or from overseas planning for an unforgettable New Zealand holiday.

The region stretches from the tranquil Marlborough Sounds in the North to Kaikoura in the South. Marlborough has the highest number of sunshine hours in New Zealand, which makes it perfect for enjoying outdoor activities such as cycling and, of course, growing grapes!

Our 5-day Marlborough-Blenheim wine tasting tour offers a selection of boutique Marlborough accommodation, en-route through an abundance of stunning wineries, with easy to moderate biking!

You’ll begin your wine-bike tour with an overnight stay in the luxury boutique Hotel d’Urville in the heart of Blenheim. It’s a small hotel with large, well-appointed rooms – the perfect place to relax after a day spent enjoying Marlborough’s many attractions. The hotel’s building is a Blenheim landmark – the Old Public Trust Building.

Built in the art deco style of the 1920s, it features a magnificent columned façade, grand staircase and high ceilings. The hotel is named for Dumont d’Urville, the French explorer who made three visits to New Zealand between 1824 and 1840. D’Urville was the first explorer to chart the Marlborough region since James Cook the 1770s. He charted the Marlborough Sounds, giving his name to the rugged d’Urville Island and other geographic landmarks in the area.

Marlborough is also known throughout New Zealand as one of the best places to experience delicious cuisine and award-winning wine. The restaurant at Hotel d’Urville is well recognised for local specialties including fresh seafood, New Zealand beef and lamb, and the very best Marlborough wines.
