This self-guided tour begins with a rail trip along the ruggedly beautiful coastline of the surging Pacific Ocean and the steeply rising Kaikoura Ranges. Spend the first night in Kaikoura, world famous for its abundant sea life including Whales, dolphins and seals. Then rejoin the train again to Marlborough – a beautiful rural region, with quiet roads ideal for relaxed cycling. You’ll have ample time to explore the wineries, food and art destinations by bike. In the evening you will be spoiled for choice with superb local dinner venues.

The cycling is easy and relaxed. Expect to cycle between 15 and 30 km each day during days 3, 4 and 5.
