(5/5) from 5 reviews

Guarded by the towering Velebit mountain range in the east and hugged by the Istria Peninsula in the northwest lie the Kvarner Bay islands. Quiet coves of crystal clear water surround green hills and rocky landscapes which give way to small harbour towns rich in history and culture.

Discover the charm of the Adriatic Sea by bike and boat on board a romantic motor yacht where each night you will stay in an ensuite cabin with air conditioning.

The day begins with a well-rounded breakfast leaving you fit to explore the diversity of the Kvarner bay islands on a guided bike tour. Be it the medieval city of Rab, the car-free road in the sky on Dugi Otok or the contemplative life of the dwellers on the flower island of Molat, each day brings with it new discoveries. Evenings are mostly spent in picturesque harbour towns with winding alleyways where a great range of bars and cafes can offer a relaxing evening.

I enjoyed the Croatia bike and sail tour very much - making new friends, learning to e-bike and the beautiful warm clear azure blue sea are great memories of the trip for me.

Croatia Biking Tour

This is a thank you and a huge recommendation to anyone interested in seeing Croatia the way we did with Global Adventure Guide. Everything about our trip in September was perfect, the boat, the guides, the food, the riding and Croatia itself was awesome. Our global adventure was brilliant!!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 4

The islands of Duji Otok & Olib

Cycling: 32 km

During breakfast on board, the boat will cruise past many small islands to the ‘spice island’ of Dugi Otok. Today’s ride will be along a road almost free of traffic and will start in the bay of Božava which is surrounded by pine, agave and tamarisk trees. Firstly we ride to the northernmost point of the island where the light house of Veli Rat (built in 1849) stands proudly. We continue along the island’s ‘Road in the Sky’ to the peaceful harbour of Savar or Bribinj. There will be plenty of time for a swim in the afternoon before continuing to the small island of Olib for the night.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 5

The islands of Pag and Rab

Cycling: 34 km

After a morning cruise, we reach the island of Pag, with it’s harsh but delightful landscape boasting many fig and olive trees. Over the centuries the inhabitants have built numerous stonewalls for protection against the wind. Starting from Mandre, we cycle along the narrow peninsula until we reach the sea, where the boat will be waiting to take us to the island of Rab, one of the sunniest places in Europe. The town of Rab, the fortified capital of the island, was built in the middle ages on a wedge-shaped headland, and marks one of the highlights of the trip. The four famous bell towers are the symbol of the adorned beauty of the town. After dinner we can explore the narrow alleys with numerous cosy bars and cafés.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 6

The island of Rab

Cycling: 25 km

We cycle along the coast to the east side of the island, an area with craggy rocks and virtually no vegetation, which reminds us of a lunar landscape. The road leads us to a bay with a sandy beach, which is rather typical of the Kvarner islands. At lunch time the boat will be waiting for us in the harbour directly in front of the old town of Rab. This afternoon after a swim we sail over to the neighbouring island of Krk, where you will spend the evening in its historical town.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 7

The island of Krk

Cycling: 45 km

Our ride takes us over the ridge of the island, covered by fragrant macchia, to a valley of vineyards, and then onwards to the small museum town of Vrbnik in the northeast. The town, built on a 50m high cliff and surrounded by vineyards, is the home of the famous white wine, Žlahtina. Another peculiarity that Vrbnik has to offer, is it has the narrowest alley in the world. The trail takes us across the island through old villages and rich vegetation to Omišalj, where Rijeka will be within view. On the way, we can take time out for a refreshing swim in the bay of Soline. We spend our last night on the boat in the harbour of Omišalj.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
