Welcome to Vietnam and the start of your Vietnam bike and boat tour! On arrival at Hanoi Airport a shuttle bus transfers you to your hotel in the heart of Hanoi's old quarter. This historic old town is considered one of the best preserved in Southeast Asia. Despite its three million inhabitants, Hanoi retains its charm and offers both a rural and traditional atmosphere. We may take a walk through the colourful and bustling streets and later in the afternoon you'll be treated to a water puppet show - a traditional Vietnamese form of art. This evening during dinner, get to know your fellow travellers.

After exploring this fascinating historical site with its well-preserved relics of past dynasties, we continue on our bikes through Vietnam's most spectacular landscapes. After stopping in the quaint village of Tran An where we can try some local specialties for lunch, we continue to Tam Coc from where a traditional row boat takes us into the heart of a hidden valley. Finally today we visit a local bird sanctuary where every evening the flock of birds returning to their nests is a spectacular sight. Tonight we stay in Tam Coc.

We may even meet some of the local farmers working in their fields, greeting us with their kind smiles. After a relaxing picnic lunch the hydrofoil will take us back to the pier where our Junk awaits. A relaxing cruise through the island world of Bai Tu Long Bay tops this eventful day off. This evening you may like to sit under the stars for a while.
